Gareth Pugh has been talking about the Ken doll he designed for Barbie's 50th birthday and it seems Ken has gone goth!
Pugh has given Barbie's beau a long black hairstyle, which hangs over his face, a PVC style funnel neck black jacket and black jeans. Welcome to 2009 Ken!
Pugh told Grazia: "I wanted my Ken to be outside the confines of what is acceptable. I wanted him to be contemporary. So I gave him a black PVC coat that is a scaled down version of one from my menswear collection. And some skinny black trousers."
He is not the only designer to be playing with dolls though.
Danielle Scutt's Barbie has a Raga-girl feel to it with her green black and orange turban style headscarf and long loose plait. She is working the casual chic look in a denim shirt, turned up baggy jeans and nude heels.
Roksanda Ilincic has given her black haired Barbie a kimono style purple coat, bow decorated pencil skirt and killer heels. She reminds us of a miniature Victoria Beckham.
What a compliment for the Posh lady!
