Fluted hems were all over the couture catwalks in Paris last month as designers Dior and Armani Prive both used the hem style in their shows.

Armani used the shape on an extreme peplum dress, with a short, silver corseted dress with the structured fluted hem appearing over a long, slinky black skirt.

Dior's skirts were bigger and more flowing, creating movement when the models walked. There were full length and long length skirts in a variety of colours and some with patterns.

The fluted skirt is perfect for summer as it  is a really feminine shape and works well with pastel colours or flower prints , as Dior proved.

This style skirt should be worn with a fitted top or jacket to counteract the large shape created by the skirt.

It may be a bit extreme for everyday wear so you could go for a less exaggerated hem or even just a floaty or layered skirts for a similar effect. Just make sure it gives you some shape to ensure you're on trend for this Spring.
