Welcome to FemaleFirst's second instalment of the 2009 Fashion Forecast; here we'll be bringing you all the big trends, events and stylish celebs of the year, all broken down month by month.
After January went came and went in a haze, now is the time to forecast all things fashionable for the month of February, and to kick things off, let us have a moan/laugh/cry at the amount of snow which has just hit the country.
Love it or loathe it, snow is currently the hot topic around the UK at the moment, and snowmen and snow ball fights are suddenly all the rage again.
With snow comes some snuggly warm fashion, and we for one are enjoying bundling up in our big puffa jackets, thermal vests and snow booties once more. Seeing as it's supposed to last the week, see our feature on being a fashionable show bunny here.
Confessions Of A Shopaholic finally hits our screens at the end of this month and we're super excited, seeing as we've been waiting for this film for about a year! First there was the news that Patricia Field would be doing the costumes, and then we learnt that the lovely Isla Fisher would be playing the lead. Whoop, this will no doubt be the SATC of 2009...bring it on!
Scarlett Johansson was named at the end of last month as the face of D&G's new beauty line, so expect some sexy advertising pictures to hit the press any day now. She wasn't the most obvious choice in our mind to become a beauty icon, but nevertheless we think she'll be a huge hit for the Italian fashion house.
New York Fashion Week has been hit with its fair share of bad news over the past few months, with designers relocating, pulling out of hosting catwalk shows and sponsors getting understandably a little nervous. All that will cease to matter, however when the fashion elite descends on Bryant Park in a few weeks time, for the fashion and not for more discussions about the recession.
London Fashion Week will also be making its fashionable debut at the end of this month and after so much scandal has hit the fashion world recently, we can't wait to see what will be shown! Look out for new designers Jasper Gavida and William Tempest debuting their collections.
Oscar fever will take the world by storm on the 22nd, and we for one will be keeping a beady eye out for some gorgeous couture sashaying down the red carpet. It's fair to say Oscar buzz has reached fever pitch surrounding Kate Winslet, so all eyes will probably be on her and her outfit choice for the night.
Best Of British seems to be the theme in the fashion world at the moment, with Chanel updating it's signature quilted handbag with a Union Jack and now Pamela Anderson's Vivienne Westwood Campaign, which features the Baywatch star in a Union Jack top and skirt.
Washed Out Nautical is one of the newest trends hitting the high-street for February, which will make a change from the strong and vibrant styles from previous years. We think it will tie in nicely with the washed out denim and back to the 80s trends, which have been so popular of late.
Gwen Stefani's sexy scents hit the shelves this month and we're super excited, seeing as the cute bottles they come in are inspired by Tokyo's Harajuku girls. Available in Love, Lil' Angel and Baby, these will the surprise hit of the year we think.
