Peplum dresses were a big trend at the MTV Movie Awards last weekend.
One of the more casual Award shows saw a whole host of celebrities chose one of the biggest trends of the moment - the peplum waist.
Charlize Theron went classic in her red Lanvin strapless number. Who needs accessories when you're that beautiful?!
Emma Watson opted for sporty chic. The Harry Potter actress is clearly a fan of this shape, having already worn a Jason Wi ensemble last year. She knew it was going to be a big trend even back then!
Her purple/grey outfit features blue hip and hemline panels. She paired it with a set of edgy cuffs and lustworthy Tabitha Simmons 'Gothic' sandals.
Julia Jones wore a neon yellow Joy Cioci dress and finished it with a pair of nude pointed pumps - the safe option.
One of my favourites of the night - and always - Emma Stone also jumped on the trend.
She paired her Martin Grant monochrome structured dress with a tousled updo - which I can't wait to recreate - an amazing pair of Brian Atwood 'Grace' pumps and a pop of colour via her rose-pink lips. A colour that I want and need.
The final peplum look came from Julianne Hough in her Sally LaPointe Fall 2012 dress.
The actress is always touch and go on the red carpet and this look was no different. I love the shape and the detail, but Julianne doesn't seem to have the right attitude to pull the look off.
The black embroidered dress features a cut-out detail under the bust.
She paired it with a simple pair of black peep toes, simple makeup and sleek locks.
