The 80s are well and truly back in fashion this season and with that comes the return of disco leggings.

Now that news will either have some of you jumping up and down with joy and delight, or have you cowering in a corner asking why on earth these horrendous leggings are back in fashion.

Fame has a lot to answer for this season, as designers have taken some influence from the hit 80s film- so not only do we have to contend with disco leggings in all manner of rainbow colours, we also have to make room for leg warmers once again making an appearance.

Daisy Lowe was spotted working some truly eye-catching rainbow coloured leggings at London Fashion Week, as she took to the runway for Pam Hogg.

Worryingly that was for next season, so perhaps this trend may transcend into AW09, and if that's the case then we can expect a very colourful winter indeed.

But for this season at least, we have to contend with the news that they will be hitting the high-street, they will be championed as fashionable and yes, there will be old grannies trying them on trying to look cool.

Can they be worked into an ordinary outfit and dressed down? No, not particularly. These leggings are bright and in your face, and wearing them will undoubtedly make a fashion statement.

The question is, what sort of fashion statement will they actually make? Would you dare to wear and most importantly, do you love or loathe them?
