Bond is once again making an impact, and this time it's on style choices.
George at Asda’s men’s suits are flying off the shelves faster than a bullet out of James Bond’s gun as the nation’s men are inspired by the action hero’s dapper look.
Sales of suits, shirts and ties take the lead in store and online as men await the release of the latest action flick SkyFall and celebrate all things Bond.
Sales of grey, navy and pinstriped men’s suits are up a massive 68% in the last week as the latest film launch-date looms and George reports its slim fit grey suit is selling at a rate of five suits an hour online making it the fastest selling suit to date.
And it isn’t just suits that are selling well, George white shirts and black ties are also top sellers in the men’s department in store and online with shirt sales up 39% and ties up 76% in the past week as men are inspired by Bond’s suave style and dress to impress with a license to thrill.
Bespoke tailor Charlie Allen who has launched a number of tailored collections at George commented: "Suit styles continue to alter as fashion trends come and go with the slim fit style the current top choice for men across the country.
"Inside every man is a James Bond dying to get out and a well-cut suit should be a staple item. James Bond is the ultimate suited hero and recent sales in store of classic tailoring go to show that whatever the trend, the classic suit never dies."
Due to customer demand in the run up to the latest flick’s release, George is celebrating by this week launching an affordable and stylish black tuxedo suitable for Money Penny pinching shoppers at just £45.

In a poll of 1,500 male shoppers surveyed, Daniel Craig topped the list as the most stylish James Bond in history with Sean Connery second and Pierce Brosnan coming in third. Casino Royale was voted the favourite Bond film of all time.
The survey also polled the nation’s favourite Bond girls as voted by male shoppers; Ursula Andress came in top with a whopping 73% voting her the ultimate Bond girl. Halle Berry and Teri Hatcher came in second and third respectively.
