Zac Efron's partnership with Hugo Boss was the first ever collaboration he "ever seriously considered".
The 29-year-old actor was announced as the brand ambassador for the luxury label's signature scent Hugo Man in December 2016, and although he was shocked when he was approached to represent the fashion house, he instantly accepted the role because of the message the company wanted to convey in their campaign #YourTimeIsNow.
Speaking in a Facebook Live Q&A, which was posted on the Hugo Boss Facebook account, the dark-haired hunk said: "I'm an ambassador now, it's pretty dope to say.
"With great power, comes great responsibility.
"No, never [imagined]. In fact when I was approached, when I get the phone call for it, i was like 'Are you kidding me? Why me?' It didn't quite make sense.
"I was like I'm such a normal person and there are so many cooler people out there, but after talking it was the first one I ever seriously considered.
"They had a new fresh idea, which I thought resonated with millennials and gave me a chance to connect with my friends in a positive way, which is the hashtag Your Time Is Now.
"This partnership is worked perfectly on many levels."
The 'Baywatch' star has always admired the "awesome brand" ever since he was younger.
He explained: "And they are an awesome brand, I have always looked up to them since I was young, I've always seen that logo, it's iconic.
"I think Hugo Boss is classic. I didn't really know to the extent of how long they've been around ... and I'm still learning. But I knew they wanted to switch things up, and it seemed to fit with my personality, and it seemed like the right time."
And the American star has revealed he "snuck" his skateboard on set with him when he was shooting the commercial, and found the entire experience "really fun".
He said: "I snuck that [skateboard] on the set.
"Fantastic, it was really fun because it was different. We approached it like an action movie. Very close to the edge skateboarding."
