The chances are you've had this moment yourself, you stumble upon a shoebox in your wardrobe and find a pair you haven't worn in years, or in fact completely forgotten about them.
But do you keep hold of them? Well, of course you do.
It comes as no surprise to us that new research has found that the average female wears only a quarter of the shoes she owns, bascially because we know, we're one of them.
The main reason we only wear a percentage of our shoe collection is because they're too uncomfortable. Yet, we still can't let go of them.
From the 2,352 women asked, the average number of shoes we own is 20.1 pairs, with the estimated value of £490.
So why aren't we wearing three-quarters of the shoes we own? The research from VoucherCodesPro.co.uk found the following reasons were used:
1. Too uncomfortable (too tight on feet/too high heels)
2. Hard to match with an outfit
3. Scared to damage/were very expensive
4. Were given as a gift and don't like them
5. Didn't like them as much when I got them home
George Charles of VoucherCodesPro.co.uk made the following comment about the findings: "I was surprised to see how many women openly admitted to having wasted money on footwear that has gone unworn since purchase, especially considering the accumulative cost of their shoe collection."
What do you make of this research then? We're thinking we need to get rid of the shoes we're not wearing and replace them with something we're going to wear.
Does that sound about right to you?
