Victoria Beckham was chosen to appear on Ugly Betty because she is a fashion icon.
The 33 year old has been signed up to star in a cameo role for two episodes of the hit series which is set in the fictional world of fashion publishing.
According to reports, actor Daniel Manius who plays Daniel Meades, persuaded Victoria to sign up when he met her at a party in London recently.
A source told London lite: He has made no secret of wanting her to appear on the show because she is such a fashion icon, and that is what the show is about.
She epitomises what Mode, the magazine in the show, is all about. It is about trendy, slim people who are into high fashion.
