Tyra Banks has admitted she hates women being labelled "plus-sized" and believes a more acceptable and "positive" term would be "fiercely real".
The 'America's Next Top Model' host wants to use a phrase with a more "positive connotation" and doesn't like the idea of separating women by their body size.
She told Huff Post Style: "I don't like the label 'plus-size'. I call it 'fiercely real.'
"On 'Top Model', we call it fiercely real. I don't want to use the term 'plus-size,' because, to me, what the hell is that? It just doesn't have a positive connotation to it. I tend to not use it."
Tyra is leading campaigns with the likes of cereal brand Special K to promote more diverse body types and insisted it can't become another "trend", it must be the norm.
She added: "We just need to make sure it's not a trend and that it's something that's normal, because this stuff comes in waves and it would be nice to see it become constant."
She isn't the only star to speak out on the issue, after actress Jennifer Lawrence claimed it should be illegal to use the word "fat" on TV.
She recently explained: "I think the media needs to take responsibility for the effect it has on our younger generation on these girls that are watching these television shows and picking up how to talk and how to be cool.
"So all of the sudden being funny is making fun of the girl that's wearing an ugly dress. And the word fat! I just think it should be illegal to call somebody fat on TV.
"If we're regulating cigarettes and sex and cuss words because of the effect it has on our younger generation, why aren't we regulating things like calling somebody fat?"
