Tom Ford is "flattered" by Jay-Z's musical tribute to him.
The designer was honoured the rapper chose to name a song after him on his new album 'Magna Carta Holy Grail' and was particularly impressed with the line, "I don't pop Molly [MDMA], I rock Tom Ford".
Tom told WWD: "Who would not be flattered to have an entire Jay-Z track named after them? I mean, come on, it's pretty rare that something like that happens.
"It's a kind of validation of one's work as it means that one has really penetrated and made an impact on popular culture.
"My favourite line is 'I don't pop Molly, I rock Tom Ford.' I love that he gets a 'high' from my clothes."
The fashion guru is a firm favourite with A-list stars and Jay-Z is no exception, having been a loyal client for years and regularly sporting Tom Ford suits.
The American designer explained: "I have been dressing him for years now, and I have to say I think he looks great in my clothes.
"[He] is one of our biggest customers. He let me know about this quite a while ago."
This isn't the first time Tom has been name-dropped in a Jay-Z song, since the rapper appeared on close pal Justin Timberlake's comeback single 'Suit & Tie' earlier this year - which features the line, "Tom Ford tuxedos for no reason" - and the musical duo were also kitted out by Tom for the video.
