The 'Anyone but You' star has put herself on a ban from using hair dye and is growing her hair out to give it a chance to bounce back to its natural state.

She told The Strategist: "I'm trying to grow my hair out. I'm on a hair-health journey.

"My hair has been very damaged and fried from constantly dyeing it for different characters and red carpets, so I decided to trim off all the dead hair, stop colouring it, and let it grow out."

The 'Immaculate' actress is also abstaining from wearing hair ties and instead opts for hair clips.

She added: "My hairstylist was also telling me to stop using hair ties when I'm not working, so I've started wearing hair clips.

"I love Emi Jay's because there's so many fun designs and colours and sizes. I probably have almost all of them. I have one in right now. It's just a fun accessory to add to your outfit."

The 'White Lotus' and 'Euphoria' star went lighter blonde for summer, with her hairstylist sharing how she was keen to "change it up majorly” and get away from her darker roots.

Celebrity hairdresser Rita Hazan told PEOPLE: "She feels most like herself when she’s blonde."

Sydney wanted to stick with her side-swept, middle parted bangs, and Hazan made sure they were part of the hair dye process.

She explained: “I’m not a big fan of just doing ‘money pieces'. I like for the hairline to be light, but it should also be blended with the rest of the hair.”
