Stella McCartney has designed a new Adidas collection for a younger audience.

The 43-year-old fashion designer - who has been teaming up with the sportswear brand for over a decade to create her Adidas by Stella McCartney line - will release her latest offering StellaSport on January 15.

The collection is aimed at younger women who will wear the pieces both at the gym and in their day to day lives.

Stella told WWD: "It takes the Stella girl from the campus to the club and finds a link in sport and technology without sacrificing style.

"There are signature moments, like our new self-laced sneakers, that give individual personality. These pieces are designed to complement your life and be totally realistic that fashion and sport technology are here to stay as a huge part of our life and wardrobes, and this is the attitude we are shouting about."

The line will feature bras, leggings, trainers and accessories and will be available to buy from Topshop and Nordstrom.

The collection's price range will also be aimed at a younger audience with pieces starting at $20 up to $100.

In addition to her lines with the sportswear giant, Stella recently teamed up with Adidas to design the official Team GB kit for the Brazil Olympics in Rio de Janeiro next year.

The fashion icon - who created the Lycra-heavy outfits for London's games in 2012 - is reportedly "thrilled" to have taken on the project.

An insider previously said: "Stella was thrilled to be approached once again and said yes straight away. She is a big supporter of strong women, and wants to make the female athletes' kit feminine yet dynamic."
