Sophie Ellis-Bextor doesn't want to be a lingerie model.
The striking 'Murder on the Dancefloor' singer insists she has no plans to follow in her fellow 'Strictly Come Dancing' contestant Abbey Clancy's footsteps by singing a lucrative modelling deal, after it was announced that the Glitterball Trophy winner had become the new face of Ultimo.
She exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "I'm a believer in serendipity, right thing right time. I was happy to be working with Rimmel, I love make-up. I'll have to see where I am later in the year, the only thing I cared about after 'Strictly' was Christmas with my family and it was lovely.
"If you're looking for an underwear model between me and Abbey, pick Abbey every time, she looks sensational, don't pick me! I just don't think I'd be arsed and I don't think anyone would ask me - I'll take the compliment, but if they saw me in my underwear they might change their mind."
The 34-year-old star claims she got no genuine male attention on the show because people she looked so unglamorous in the training room.
Sophie explained: "I think a lot of 'Strictly' was me with no make-up on in the training room. The first time I've been on telly in my tracksuit bottoms with no make-up, it certainly wasn't a step towards glamour in my book. I didn't watch the interviews and I only watched the dancing when I was ready.
"I think you have to take any attention with a pinch of salt. There's a big difference between someone seeing you all dolled up on telly and saying something nice and someone complementing you in real life. If it's the attention from telly I think, 'There's a whole team of people trying to make me look nice, it's more their handy work than me.' "
