Karen Gillan has been revealed as a Scottish Fashion Icon nominee
Karen Gillan, Paolo Nutini and James McAvoy are just some of the celebs in the running for the fashion crown as the Scottish Fashion Icon nominees are revealed.
Dubbed ‘Scotland’s Fashion Oscars’ by international press, organisers have announced the shortlist for the event’s ‘Scottish Fashion Icon’ award, which will be presented at the 9th annual Scottish Fashion Awards on 1st September at 8 Northumberland, London.
The magnificent Victorian ballroom will provide the back drop to the black tie Scottish Banquet and awards ceremony and play host to Scotland’s finest designers, textile manufacturers, supermodels & fashion players for the nation’s most high profile celebration of fashion and style. The event will be co-hosted by The Secretary of State for Scotland Alistair Carmichael MP and awards founder Dr Tessa Hartmann.
Paolo Nutini has also been revealed as a nomineeThe awards ceremony, which will be presented by MTV’s Laura Whitmore, provides an unrivalled platform for new and emerging Scottish talent and Scots working in fashion around the world. The finalists will be judged by an exclusive panel made up of professionals from the world’s leading fashion houses, the most renowned and respected fashion publications and leading figures in style including Rankin, Justine Picardie, Colin McDowell, Sara Maino, Jane Bruton and Hilary Alexander to name but a few.
Celebrating the best of what Scotland has to offer in fashion, design and textiles there are 14 categories that will be unveiled on the night, with the ‘Scottish Fashion Icon’ category as the only one polled by the general public. The shortlist highlights a taste of Scotland’s most fashionable players hailing from fashion, film, entertainment and music who are making waves on the red carpet with their own inimitable style!
