Robert Pattinson has been officially unveiled as the new face of Dior Homme fragrance.

The 'Twilight' hunk's new advertising gig has finally been confirmed after months of speculation, with Parfums Christian Dior revealing the actor has joined the luxury brand's "privileged" circle of celebrity ambassadors, who include Natalie Portman and Charlize Theron.

The official statement reads: "Today we are excited to announce that [Robert] will join the privileged circle of Dior faces.

"Photographed by American artist Nan Goldin and filmed by French director Romain Gavras, this new Dior Homme communication campaign is currently broadcast exclusively in Europe (except UK) and Asia (except China and Japan)."

Robert was first rumoured to have landed the role in late 2012, with reports he had shot a steamy TV ad flooding in back in March.

The newly-single star - who split from Kristen Stewart last month - is said to have signed $12 million deal last autumn which was allegedly motivated by his respect for the brand.

The "sexually explicit" ad will supposedly see Robert cavorting with three models in various states of undress.

The 27-year-old star is following in the fashion footsteps of his ex-girlfriend, who fronts Balenciaga's fragrance campaigns.
