Rita Ora claims wearing red lipstick is a perfect confidence booster and makes her feel more feminine
The hit singer never leaves the house without slicking on her signature bright red lipstick and says the bold make-up look is an instant confidence boost.
She told US Glamour magazine: "Wearing red lipstick, in my opinion, is the simplest way to make an impact. As soon as I slick it on, I feel instantly pulled together, more powerful, more womanly. I wear it all, almost every day."
The 22-year-old star started experimenting with red lips in a bid to give her daring style more edge as a teenager.
Rita said: "My taste for standing out started when I worked at a sneaker store in high school. People would constantly compliment me on my bright trainers, and I found myself loving the unexpected attention.
"It got to the point where I actually started feeling disappointed when no one said, 'Oh, I like that!' I soon added the red lipstick for extra punch, and it's been a staple ever since."
The blonde also admits she feels a connection to the strong and inspirational women in her family whenever she wears the beauty product.
Rita added: "Gwen Stefani and Marilyn Monroe are my inspirations. But the deep connection I have with red lipstick stems from women in my family.
"My mum and auntie and gran were these strong women who wore it and looked incredibly glam. They truly knew how to embrace make-up."
