Rita Moreno has teased that she will be wearing an "extraordinary" dress for the Oscars.

The 92-year-old actress initially claimed that it was a Dolce and Gabbana dress that she would be wearing to the upcoming awards ceremony on Sunday (10.03.24) but immediately backtracked and revealed that the number would be from Badgley Mischka.
Speaking on 'The Today Show', she said: "I’m going to wear a gown that’s gonna knock your socks off. I gotta clear something up instantly. Badgley Mischka! That's the gown I'm wearing for the Oscars. I am 92 years old and I got confused earlier on Today, this show. And I'm sure somebody's gonna just kill me. I'm going to wear an extraordinary gown for the Oscars. Not bad for an old lady!"
The 'West Side Story' star - who won an Academy Award herself for her role as Anita in the 1961classic - went on to confirm that the dress will be black and she will do something "very different" to her hair even though she remained coy about spilling exactly what it is.
She said: "It's black also but it's so astonishing. I can't wait. And I'm going to do something very different with my hair. I won't say what but it's going to be very different. Oh, it's going to be astonishing, mostly because I'm going to be in it.
Rita insisted that the gown is going to "blow a lot of people" away as she described the dress as "gorgoeus."
She said: "I'm going to wear a gown that's going to blow a lot of people away Badgley Mischka, but it’s just gorgeous."
