Rihanna says working on her first haircare line was "a lot more stressful" than she thought it would be.
The 36-year-old pop star has ventured into the world of fashion and beauty in recent years with her hugely successful Fenty brand and she's venturing into hair for the first time this summer as she launches her Fenty Hair range - and the singer insists she worked hard to get the formulation just right.
Speaking at the collection's launch event in Los Angeles, Rihanna explained: "Creating a haircare line is a lot more stressful than I thought. Considering all hair types, considering all of the brands that I've been in love with my entire life, I'm thinking, ‘If it's not better than this one, it can't work'."
She added: "Evolving as a woman and even as an artist, hair has been such a huge part of that and a reflection of whatever I'm feeling.
"So, it changes a lot and my hair goes through a lot. Making this brand, I had to consider all of those things.
"I want to look fly, but I want my hair to be healthy. How do I do that? All of my products need to strengthen and repair while I'm out just being fabulous."
The collection launches on June 13 and includes The Rich One Moisture Repair Shampoo and Conditioner and The Richer One Moisture Repair Deep Conditioner, as well as a repair treatment called The Comeback Kid Instant Damage Repair Treatment Bond Builder, The Protective Type 5-In-1 Heat Protectant Styler, The Gelly Type Strong Hold Gel, The HomeCurl Curl Defining Cream and The Controlling Type Hair Thickening Edge Control Gel.
Rihanna previously declared she wants to make sure her hair line is completely inclusive.
She told 'Extra': "I really don’t want to leave one customer behind … I wanted everyone to have a product they could meet when they come in touch with Fenty Hair.
"I wanted something for every hair style, every hair type, every lifestyle actually, because lifestyle is a really big part of how you address your hair - how much time you have, what kind of styles you wear, how often you wear them."
