Rihanna's costume designer Adam Selman will launch his own fashion line.
The 'Pour It Up' star's personal fashion guru is set to debut his first collection during New York Fashion Week in September, following his successful collaboration with the singer on her own clothing range for British high street chain River Island.
Adam has worked with Rihanna for two years after being introduced to her by his stylist boyfriend, Mel Ottenberg, but the designer has now decided to branch out with a ready-to-wear line for the general public.
The designer will unveil his first collection, for spring/summer 2014, at New York Fashion Week and he has high hopes that the clothes will be stocked by Net-A-Porter and Barney's New York.
WWD describes the collection as being heavily inspired by swimwear, but "wearable".
Adam said of his new range: "[It's] sexy. It's that fantasy woman but it's also sporty."
The fashion expert is the creative vision behind many of Rihanna's risqué stage outfits and he is also head of design for the pop star's River Island clothing range, which will launch its autumn collection in UK stores in September, followed by a winter collection in November.
