Riccardo Tisci was "surprised" Julia Roberts agreed to be the latest face of Givenchy.

Riccardo Tisci has confessed he was "surprised" Julia Roberts agreed to front his latest Givenchy campaign.

He told The Guardian, "I liked that she was one of the biggest stars in the world but you don't see her in fashion imagery. I was very surprised she accepted."

Riccardo, 40, is a huge fan of the 47-year-old actress after growing up watching her films and confessed to getting "goosebumps" while working with the Oscar winner on the shoot.

He said: "Ten years ago, I couldn't afford clothes. Now I'm working with Julia Roberts.

"They are a gang and part of my family."

The new campaign features a classically styled Julia sporting a box jacket, lace shirt and smart tuxedo dress and is set to appear in a variety of international fashion titles including Vogue, Grazia, Elle, Marie Claire and GQ, as well as Purple, V, Interview, CR Fashion Book, System and Love, in March next year.
