Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia have been named co-creative directors at Oscar de la Renta.
The design duo both previously worked at the fashion house before departing in 2015 to found their own label Monse and are "beyond thrilled" to be returning to replace departed Peter Copping, who stepped down earlier this year.
Laura and Fernando said in a statement: "We are beyond thrilled to go back to the house where we learned the fundamentals of fashion from Oscar and the business of fashion from Alex (Bolen, CEO). Having further learned so much this past year with Monse, we will apply all of those lessons to expand the vision that this amazing house has already established."
Laura previously worked at the fashion house for 12 years until her departure as design director, while Fernando joined in 2009 and held the senior designer position when he left.
And Oscar de la Renta CEO Alex Bolen knows they have made the right choices for the new creative directors because the late eponymous founder was a big admirer of their work.
Alex said: "For many years, Laura and Fernando worked here directing our design teams. Oscar respected their talent, and their work with him brought tremendous critical acclaim and success to the company. In a short period of time, Laura and Fernando have established Monse as a brand with a distinct, original point of view. Our plan is to help Monse fulfil its potential by growing quickly and profitably utilising our operating, financial and logistic systems.
"We look forward to Laura and Fernando once again bringing their extraordinary design skills to Oscar de la Renta."
Peter announced in July he was stepping down from the role he had held since shortly before Oscar's death in 2014.
Laura and Fernando's first collection for the brand will be autumn/winter 2017.
