The brand - which was founded in 2002 by Carol Lim and Humberto Leon - is set to break out of the mould of producing a traditional runway show this season and will instead display their Spring/Summer 2015 collection through a play co-written by Hollywood actor Jonah Hill and screenwriter Spike Jonze.
Humberto told WWD: "We were really excited about him (Jonze) writing an original script and seeing how this would take shape."
The work has still not been given a title and plot details about the one-act piece are yet to be unveiled.
It will be performed by a mixture of models and actors on September 7, although 'Wolf of Wall Street' star Jonah will not make an appearance in the play.
Writing the script won't be the first time that Oscar-winning director Spike has collaborated with the brand.
Opening Ceremony previously created two capsule clothing collections based on the protagonists in the 44 year old's blockbuster 'Her' (2013) and 'Where The Wild Things Are' (2009).
