Olivier Rousteing designs clothes for women that are "warriors".
The Balmain creative director claims he makes clothes for women from all corners of the world but says you have to be "strong" and "powerful" to pull off the "flamboyant" designs.
He shared: "It's not about age, it's not about colour, it's not about countries - it's about a confident woman who wants to feel strong. We dress different cultures and ethnicities - Asian, American, European, South American - wherever you come from, you are part of the Balmain Army.
"You just have to be confident and you need to be strong, that's what I love about the power woman, the Nineties supermodel.
"I feel like I am dressing the personality of a woman, a woman who doesn't hide. Some people call it flamboyant, but a woman who is going to wear Balmain is a warrior. The women I dress are powerful, they are strong, they are women who are going to change the world. These are the women I want to have around me."
The 28-year-old fashion designer claims he keeps these values in mind when casting models to feature in his catwalk shows.
He told Vogue magazine: "The Balmain show is always a good mix. When you ask me about my customer, the show is the same. We have Adriana Lima, who is a top model and also a mum of two kids; then I might have Binx Walton, who is 19, mixed race and really weird, just super-cool and beautiful; also Issa Lish, who is Mexican and Japanese, beautiful girl; then someone like Anne Ewers, with a little Brigitte Bardot, a little Claudia, like a Nineties top model.
"The common ground is that they are strong. It doesn't matter if you are 19, if you are a mother, if you are 34 - at the end of the day, you are part of the army because you are a strong girl who has something to say."
