Nicole Richie doesn't like wearing make-up.
The 34-year-old fashion designer insists she isn't "against" using cosmetics, but feels more comfortable when she's bare faced as too much product "clogs" her skin.
She told People magazine: "I stay away from make-up because it clogs my skin.
"I know people [who] are so comfortable in makeup and they feel alive and that is what they love to do.
"So I wouldn't say that I am against it because I know people that really get joy and feel the most like themselves when they put on make-up. I feel the most like myself when I don't have any on and so that's the road that I go down.
"Some people love to wear make-up and that's their thing. They like it. They're comfortable in it. It's not something that I would do. I like having a bare face. That's me."
Nicole isn't the only star who prefers to go make-up free.
Alicia Keys attended the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) bare faced last week, after revealing earlier this summer she was tired of covering up.
She said: "I don't want to cover up anymore. Not my face, not my mind, not my soul, not my thoughts, not my dreams, not my struggles, not my emotional growth. Nothing."
The 'Empire State of Mind' hitmaker made her decision after arriving for a photoshoot and the photographer insisting on taking her picture before she had begun getting ready.
She previously recalled: "I was shocked.
"Instantly, I became a bit nervous and slightly uncomfortable. My face was totally raw. I had on a sweatshirt! As far as I was concerned, this was my quick run-to-the-shoot-so-I-can-get-ready look, not the actual photoshoot look."
But after seeing the pictures, Alicia had never felt more "honestly beautiful".
She admitted: "I swear it is the strongest, most empowered, most free, and most honestly beautiful that I have ever felt."
