Mulberry has appointed Johnny Coca as its new creative director.
The Spanish fashion designer - who is currently head of leather goods, accessories, shoes and jewellery at Céline - is set to take on the role, which has been left vacant since Emma Hill departed from the luxury label in September 2013, in summer next year.
Johnny will take charge of all of Mulberry's lines and will report to the company's chairman and CEO Godfrey Davis when he takes up the position on July 8 2015, reports Vogue.co.uk.
He said: "I very much look forward to joining Mulberry as its new creative director and to leading a new design direction at one of the very best British brands."
Godfrey added the label is "delighted" to have Johnny at its helm.
He said: "We are delighted that Johnny is joining us.
"He has a wealth of international luxury and fashion experience that will help us bring new energy and innovation to Mulberry."
The Seville-born designer studied art, architecture and design at the École des Beaux-Arts and École Boulle in Paris before taking on positions at Bally, Louis Vuitton and eventually Céline.
Godfrey - who revealed Mulberry were actively looking for a new creative director and chief executive earlier this year - recently reassured shareholders that more stable financial times were ahead for the brand.
He said: "We are actively working on both [a new chief executive and creative director]. We hope to tell the market fairly soon."
Other rumoured candidates for the role included the former creative director of Issa, Blue Farrier and the former creative director of Chloé, Hannah MacGibbon.
