Mark Wahlberg is expanding his clothing brand

The 53-year-old Hollywood actor launched the company back in 2019 to provide "style-driven apparel/accessories" focusing on "comfort" and "performance" and after previously opening a pop-up store in New York City last year, the company has now thrown open the doors to its first stand alone store in Los Angeles - and there are plans to open another branch in Carlsbad, California in August with 10 more to follow in the next two to three years in cities including Las Vegas, Phoenix, Atlanta, New York and Wahlberg's hometown of Boston.

WWD.com also reports the movie star will be adding a line of grooming products - including shaving cream, after shave, moisturiser, deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, body wash and hand lotion - in the autumn and it will be followed by an eyewear line in 2025.

The brand currently includes staples such as T-shirts, polos, sweatshirts, underwear, shorts and outerwear and recently launched a womenswear collection all priced between $30 and $180.

Municipal made its first foray into footwear last year with the launch of the Origin sneaker and it was followed by a slider in 2024.

Wahlberg previously told Fox News: "Everything that we do is aspirational. It doesn’t matter where you come from, where you start, there isn’t anything you can’t accomplish if you’re willing to do the work.

"It’s how I live my life every day. Everyone who’s a part of Municipal … for us, it’s all about the dream, the plan and the hustle, making things happen."

His business partner Harry Arnett added: "I mean, this has been 15 years in the making. The very first time that Mark and I ever met, we started talking about the need to do a brand that was going to totally change the game with fashion, cool-factor style, but also the stuff you just wear everywhere ...

"Mark’s constantly multitasking, in the gym, outside of the gym, everywhere you go, stuff that goes seamlessly and performs better than anything else, and that was kind of our dream for Municipal. And here we are 15 years later, standing in the Municipal store, it’s pretty surreal."
