Lindsay Lohan indulged in a therapeutic mud cleanse to mark the start of 2016.

The 29-year-old actress saw in the New Year during a holiday to Costa Rica, and decided to "clear away the negativity" by reaping the benefits of the volcanic mud while she was there.
Lindsay posted a picture of herself wearing just bikini bottoms while covered in the mud on her Instagram page.
She captioned the shot: "A redheads cleanse, freckles and all, #InThisYearLoveYourself #beproductive #spotsReverything #mudcleanse in a boiling hot volcano!!! Always in 2016 have courage and be kind."
Lindsay later shared another shot of the cleanse, showing herself standing next to what appeared to be a local also covered in the mud.
She wrote: "Yes, volcanic mud to clear away the negativity. But you have to do it like this! And it's awesome."
Lindsay has never been far away from controversy during her career to date.
However, she is sure to be hoping that her new project 'The Shadow Within' will mark her acting comeback.
The indie film is her first movie in two years, but little is known about it other than the title. But Lindsay has been sharing snaps from the set with fans on Instagram.
Lindsay's last film was 2013's 'The Canyons', but it was critically panned.
