Alber's departure from the luxury brand shocked the fashion world last October and they are expected to finally announce his replacement in the next few weeks, with WWD naming Bouchra Jarrar as the most likely candidate.

However, Bouchra, who has her own collection, is tipped only to take on the womanswear collection while Lucas Ossendrijver has been touted as a likely menswear designer for the brand.

Alber had responsibility for both during his 14-year tenure at Lanvin.

Chemena Kamali and Lucio Finale have taken temporary charge since Alber's departure and were in charge of the recent pre-fall and fall collections.

Alber's departure was announced last year with the statement: "Today the House of Lanvin ended its collaboration with Alber Elbaz. We would like to thank him for the chapter he has written in the House's over-125-year history."

Alber said: "At this time of my departure from Lanvin on the decision of the company's majority shareholder, I wish to extend my gratitude and warm thoughts to all those who have worked with me passionately on the revival of Lanvin over the last 14 years; to express my affection to all my wonderful colleagues in the Lanvin ateliers who accompanied me, and who enriched and supported my work. Together, we have met the creative challenge presented by Lanvin, have restored its radiance and have returned it to its rightful position among France's absolute luxury fashion houses."
