The 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians' star - who attended the annual awards ceremony with her husband Kanye West - was left horrified after a pocket fell off her stunning sequined Jean Paul Gaultier gown as she made her way to the Staples Centre in Los Angeles.
The raven-haired beauty managed to solve the embarrassing wardrobe malfunction by sewing up the dress in her car before pulling up to the red carpet.
She said during a Grammy after party show: "Basically, my pocket fell off - the whole pocket fell off. When I sat it ripped and we were sewing and safety-pinning."
Kim, 34, also admitted she'd had help selecting the plunging bejewelled creation from her 'Stronger' hitmaker hubby, who called Jean Paul Gaultier to request the heavy-duty gown for his wife after seeing it online.
She explained: "It's probably 100 pounds.
"He saw this online at a couture show and sent me the picture and said, 'Babe do you like this dress?' He called the designer, gets it and it's sitting my dressing room. I'm the luckiest woman alive."
While Kim's cleavage-baring gown was sure to turn heads on the red carpet, her gold and silver creation was upstaged by Madonna's backside-exposing Givenchy corset and fishnet stockings.
The 56-year-old singer donned the matador-inspired ensemble ahead of her performance of her new single 'Living For Love' during the ceremony and confessed she was hoping to set tongues wagging with the raunchy rendition.
She told E! News: "I hope we'll be talking about 'Living For Love. Bullfighting, love, romance, heartbreak."
Katy Perry also opted to show some skin in a sheer Zuhair Murad Couture creation.
The 'Roar' hitmaker - who debuted her new lavender bob at the event - finished off her look with diamond statement earrings and silver strappy Sophia Webster heels.
