Karl Lagerfeld has "no time" for social media.
The Chanel boss says despite having four iPhones he's not a fan of new gadgets and won't be joining Twitter anytime soon.
He told InStyle magazine: "The world is distorted by these [iPhones]. I have no time for it [social media]. The day is too short. I am not interested in looking for unknown friends. I know enough people already.
"I don't even go in the street anymore. Even in the middle of the night, there's somebody [outside my house]. The people who come up to me are all very nice but at the same time it's a bore."
Although Chanel has embraced celebrity culture, counting A-list stars Blake Lively, Alexa Chung and Keira Knightley as followers, the fashion designer is not keen to dwell on celebrity.
He said: "I am tired of celebrities. Let's go back to unknown beauties. Celebrities and icons are overdone."
While Karl isn't a fan of Twitter, his Siamese cat Choupette, who he recently said he would marry, has more than 33,000 followers on the micro-blogging site.
He continued: "She has two maids. She comes to the South of France with me but she travels only in a private jet.
"She behaves impeccably, eating her food on the table from silver dishes. There is never anything that falls from the plate.
"She hates other animals. When we go to see her doctor, in the waiting room she is very aloof."
