Julien Macdonald is delighted his fellow designers are backing him on 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
The Welsh designer has been overwhelmed by the support from fashion industry insiders since he announced he was taking part in the new series of the ballroom dancing contest.
He told Vogue.co.uk: "The reaction has been amazing, better than I ever thought. I was worried about what the industry would think, but everyone's been really supportive.
"It's been 'Go Team Julien' all the way, and there's no reason that a fashion designer can't do something like this. It's a new direction for me and I'm loving every minute."
The former 'Britain and Ireland's Next Top Model' judge was shocked to be invited to join the BBC One show's line-up, and is grateful TV bosses have allowed him to schedule rehearsals around preparations for London Fashion Week.
Julien quipped: "When the producers called me in, I thought they just wanted to talk to me about [the programme's fashion spin-off] 'It Takes Two,' I never ever thought they'd want me for the main show.
"My first reaction was I wouldn't be able to do it - I thought my fashion career would be over. I didn't think for a minute I'd be able to afford the time.
"The producers have let me work things around Fashion Week."
