Joey King has shaved her hair off for a new role.
The 19-year-old actress has chopped off all of her hair for her new part as Gypsy Rose Blanchard in Hulu's new series 'The Act' and despite it being such a drastic style change she is adamant that "no part of her was nervous" beforehand.
Speaking to Allure, she said: "I've never really had an attachment to my hair. I couldn't care less what happens to it.
"No part of me was nervous or was second-guessing it. So many people would ask me, 'Are you really scared?' Or, 'Are you nervous?' Or say, 'You're so brave.' And I'd go, 'I'm not brave, I'm just cutting my hair off.' "
The 'Kissing Booth' star revealed her dramatic change on Instagram and shared a video of herself having her head shaved, and a selfie while sat in the car - wearing minimal make-up and purple tinted shades.
She wrote: "My name for the next 4 months, is Gypsy Rose Blanchard. This story is very disturbing and I am honored to be able to portray it.
"What a wild ride this will be on "The Act" @hulu Link in my bio for the exclusive interview I gave with @alluretalking about the decision to shave my head for a 3rd time for a project I'm so ready to take on. (sic)"
Joey was flooded with supportive comments from her Instagram followers who adore her new cropped look.
One user wrote: "Girl you do you I think your still pretty and u will always be my fav actress (sic)"
Another said: "Omg you look gorgeous even with your hair shaved (sic)"
The upcoming series follows the true story of Gypsy Rose, a young woman in Missouri who murdered her mother after she spent her life convincing her she was terminally ill.
