Jessie J admitted her purple lipstick at the BRIT Awards "didn't work".

The 25-year-old singer opted for a nude coloured Julien Macdonald jumpsuit for the awards ceremony which took place at London's O2 Arena on Wednesday night (19.02.14), but doesn't think her eccentric lip colour complemented her style.

She wrote on Twitter: "The lip didn't work. Get over it. I have. Onto the next look! (sic)"

The 'WILD' hitmaker accessorised her outfit with a gold clutch, heels, earrings and bracelet, while she wore her long brunette locks in lose curls.

Jessie was nominated for British Female Solo Artist, up against Birdy, Laura Marling and Laura Mvula, but Ellie Goulding took home the gong.

Ellie opted for a pink princess gown with a pink tight bodice and white lace skirt by Vivienne Westwood, as she walked the red carpet with her blonde locks pulled into a plait.

She changed later in the night and accepted her award in a sparkly gold number.
