Jessica Alba "needs" to drink salty water after her workout sessions.
The 35-year-old actress has admitted she has low blood sugar levels and blood pressure and needs to replenish the salts and vitamins in her body lost after exercising, which she does by adding pink Himalayan salt into her drink otherwise she is left feeling "woozy".
Speaking openly to Cosmopolitan online about her ailment and how she supplements sodium in her eating plan, the brunette beauty - who is the co-founder of The Honest Company, which prides itself on non-toxic health products - said: "I actually have low blood sugar and low blood pressure, and I get very woozy if I don't have enough salt. When I do hot yoga, water isn't enough. I need to have salty water or I'll have coconut water.
"I just add a pinch of salt to water. I really like pink Himalayan.
"I told my doctor I eat an abnormal amount of salt, and he said, 'Did you know it's because you're naturally low? Your body overcompensates and needs more salt,' so that's how I justify all the salt I pour on everything."
However, the mother of two - who has Honor, seven, and Haven, four with Cash Warren - has revealed she doesn't have a sweet tooth but loves to load her healthy meals with "gallons" of hot sauce.
Speaking about her diet the 'Sin City: A Dame To Kill For' star said: "I'm not much of a sweets person.
"I try to always have a salad, and I always make my own salad dressing--it just tastes better. I'll often make a chicken quesadilla with corn tortillas--and gallons of hot sauce. Literally. It's like I'm trying to burn a hole through my stomach. It's so good. It's such a problem. The variety of hot sauce. I have five or six different types in my fridge."
