The 'Want To Want Me' hitmaker debuted a new hairstyle at the CFDA Fashion Awards last week and has revealed how it came about.
Speaking to Vanity Fair magazine, he said: "I've been going wild with my hair for the past couple of months and I wanted to clean it up for a second. I tried some braids, and then I was like, 'Damn! My hair is really long.' I didn't expect it to be that long when I braided it so I was like, 'What the f**k am I going to do?' So I decided to put it in a bun. I really like it. I think it looks cool.
"The girls are kind of into it. I didn't expect that, but maybe I should keep it for them. I have nothing but much love. It doesn't really matter to me. I'm going to do what I want to do at the end of the day. I'm not putting my hair in a bun for a particular person. I put it in for myself. But I'm glad some people dig it, though."
Meanwhile, the 26-year-old singer has been channelling all his energy into music after he recently penned his former girlfriend Daphne Joy a song to explain their break-up.
He said: "There's one that I did that talks about it pretty spot-on. I actually sent it to her, too. A lot of times, she's like, 'You don't speak to me. You're not talking to me. I don't get it.' So I wrote it in a song, and she was like, 'It's clearer now.'
"It's crazy how that is. Sometimes we're better at certain things. Where somebody may be a better talker than me, through a song, I'm able to explain anything."
