The 19-year-old actress - who made her film breakthrough on 'True Grit' - has admitted the homeware item is the secret behind her sleek straight flick of eyeliner, although she is grateful she has not been caught in the act of applying it yet.
Speaking to Harper's Bazaar magazine about her beauty hacks, the brunette beauty said: "I use Scotch tape to get my eyeliner right, basically like a stencil. My friend Sophie always sends me video links for new things she's learned. Thankfully no one's walked in on me attempting it yet!"
However, tips are not the only thing the 'Pitch Perfect 2' star - who released a cover of 'Flashlight', which she sung in the comic film - takes from her best friend, as she has also stolen her pal's products in the past.
She said: "I nabbed her Laura Mercier Eye Art Artist's Palette - shhh."
Meanwhile, the 'Love Myself' singer looks to supermodel Kate Moss for style inspiration and even carries a photograph around of the blonde beauty to emulate her look.
Speaking about her fashion and beauty muse, the brunette beauty said: "It's not like top five--she's my number one. I carry pictures of Kate Moss to the salon."
