Grace Woodward claims Julien Macdonald is misunderstood.
The celebrity stylist clashed ferociously with the Welsh designer when they first worked together on 'Britain and Ireland's Next Top Model', but has since learnt to love his outspoken nature and believes he's a force to be reckoned with.
She exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "At first, Julien and I hated each other because we didn't know each other. Elle Macpherson was the biggest diva and then Julian and I were complete divas, so it became a behind-the-scenes diva competition!
"Luckily we're really good friends now. I wore one of his dresses to my wedding and he designed the programme. I love him. He's such a generous, spirited man, he's worked so hard to get where he is."
The fashion-savvy star also appeared to touch upon Julien's infamous spat with Cheryl Cole, who took offence to his blunt sense of humour in 2010.
Grace added: "You can't win them all. When you're up there like he is, it's difficult you're dealing with a lot of egos and insecurity - you can say the wrong thing at the wrong time to the wrong person and all of a sudden it's all in the press."
The stylist says her experience on 'BINTM' has given her a passion for helping young girls who struggle with their self image, and she would love to make a TV show about it.
She explained: "I was getting young girls asking me questions like, 'What size is normal?' It slapped me round the face and woke me up to a lot of things.
"My mum, who recently died, had been anorexic all my life. She said she always wanted to look like Twiggy, who was the icon of her time. She was in a lifetime battle with her body and it broke my heart when I saw other girls going that and thought, I want to do something about this and become a positive force.
"If I did another TV show it would d be based upon [teaching women] positive thinking and also showing there are different creative means of looking good, you don't have to spend loads of money."
Celebrity stylist and new mum Grace Woodward has partnered with Persil Non-Bio and Comfort Pure to create 'Pram Glam: a guide to post-pregnancy fashion' available at www.persilandcomfort.co.uk.
