The show's stars Blake Lively and Leighton Meester are already adorning the pages of all the top magazines and trend predictors around the world are backing these girls for big things in the next year.
According to a recent feature in the New York Times, merchants, designers and trend consultants say that the Gossip Girl look is set to be huge among teen girls with excess money.
"It represents a stylistic departure," Sari Sloane, the vice president for fashion merchandising for Intermix, told the New York Times. "A move away from a Hollywood look that was very casual and improvised, to something more polished, more big-city chic."
