Gemma Ward thinks hard work and politeness are key to becoming a successful model.
The 30-year-old beauty has offered some advice to aspiring models, urging them to be kind to every person they meet in the fashion industry and stressing the need to be "present in what you're doing".
In an interview with Vogue Australia, Gemma advised: "When you show up to work, really show up. Be present in what you're doing and be on time.
"Be kind to everyone in the room and know that nothing happens overnight. Hard work comes with its rewards."
The blonde beauty recently made her return to the runway for the spring/summer 2018 season, 11 years after taking a break from the industry to work on her mental health.
The Australian star was picked out to be a model as a teenager at a time when she "looked pretty scary", having lost a lot of weight due to depression - but Gemma is now in a healthy and happy place in her life.
She said: "It's amazing what the human body can endure, and what you can kind of get yourself into mentally. For a long time, I wanted to talk about what I was going through, but I was still in it."
Gemma found solace by reading biographies about other female celebrities who had endured problems with their body image and fame, such as the late Princess Diana and Jane Fonda.
She said: "I always wanted to get to that place where I could talk about it, because it would mean that I was no longer in it."
