Do you struggle to find clothes to wear?

We've all been in that situation, a wardrobe bursting with clothes and nothing to wear. When you know how much you spend on you wardrobe, maybe you'll see it a little differently.

British women spend an average of £83,498 on clothes in a lifetime and buy an average of 3,109 items each over the years. 

With an average of 271 pairs of shoes, 185 dresses, 145 bags and 66 hats bought in a lifetime, women of the UK are self confessed shopaholics with a proven footwear obsession, spending £13,898 on shoes, £7,699 on dresses, £5,420 on bags and £5,905 on jeans in a lifetime.

The research from Sure Women Linen Dry revealed that despite their bulging wardrobes, 60 per cent of women still struggle to find something to wear for work or an evening out. 

We are also a nation obsessed with re-freshing our appearance, with 41 per cent admitting to changing outfits at least twice per day, re-applying make-up up to five times per day and one in four checking the mirror five times or more every day.

10 per cent of women admitted to buying at least one item of clothing or accessories every week in the middle of the day, just to attend an event straight from work. Most commonly, rash purchases included accessories  and tops.

14 per cent claimed to have hidden purchases from their partners and one in eight admitted to keeping at least one pair of shoes at their place of work to change into for a night out.
