Ellie Goulding has been honoured for her commitment to environmentally friendly fashion.
The 32-year-old British pop star lives as a vegan and has been a long-time advocate for wearing clothing and accessories which promote sustainability.
On Tuesday (25.09.18), Ellie attended Fashion 4 Development's First Ladies Luncheon at The Pierre Hotel in New York City and was presented with the Eco Award for her actions, a prize she was thrilled to receive.
In a post on her Instagram account, she wrote: "Such an honour and privilege to meet such inspiring and bada*s women today. I will always use my platform to encourage others to be a steward of the beautiful planet we are all lucky enough to be on. Therefore, I will always be a huge supporter of sustainable fashion."
Ellie stepped out on the special green carpet at the event in a black dress designed by Edeline Lee matched with a chunky belt and black pumps from Stella McCartney, who is also committed to sustainable fashion.
Another winner on the day was actress Amber Heard who received the Angel Award and she also took to her Instagram account to mark the occasion.
She wrote: "Honoured to have received the Angel Award at today's Fashion4Development #FirstLadiesLuncheon. Congrats to my fellow honorees! (sic)"
The ceremony was hosted by actor Aldis Hodge hosted the ceremony and Eco-Age founder Livia Firth introduced The Commonwealth Fashion Exchange runway show.
Ahead of the presentation, Fashion 4 Development's Evie Evangelou told the assembled guests: "I have always believed that fashion is an instrument by which culture is created and a mirror through which culture is reflected."
