Donna Ida and Charlotte de Carle help raise awareness

Donna Ida has been busy today helping to raise money and awareness for the Jeans for Genes campaign.

The designer, hailed as the Queen of Jeans, is keen to spread the message of the campaign ahead of Jeans for Genes day tomorrow, when the public are invited to leave their suits and uniforms at home and wear jeans to school or work in return for a donation.

The annual fundraiser by Genetic Disorders UK helps to transform the lives of children affected by genetic disorders.

This morning, Donna and her pal model and presenter Charlotte de Carle, threw on a pair of IDA jeans from Donna’s collection, teamed with a Jeans for Genes t-shirt, and posed in the window of the Donna Ida’s Belgravia boutique.

Donna, a Jeans for Genes ambassador, understands how important it is to raise money for this campaign. Every year 1 in 25 children in the UK are born with a genetic disorder, amounting to 30,000 babies, and the associated health problems are the biggest cause of death of children under the age of 14. To help change the lives of those affected, Donna has pledged to donate £1 to Jeans for Genes for every pair sold of her extensive jean collection on Friday 19th September across her 3 stores and website. To date, Donna has raised £75,000 for Jeans for Genes.

Jeans for Genes Day provides vital funding for children with genetic disorders. In 2014, 25 charities will benefit from the funds raised on Jeans for Genes Day.
