The 50-year-old catwalk icon has admitted she didn't have a "tiny" frame like fellow models and wasn't expected to slim down to a petite size zero, but she found her curvaceous figure made it difficult for her when gracing the catwalk.

Speaking to VioletGrey.com, the brunette beauty said: "Fortunately, we weren't expected to be a size zero or two in my era. Christy [Turlington] and Linda [Evangelista] and I, we weren't so tiny. But I was still voluptuous even in that group. Sometimes it was hard at the fashion shows."

However, the supermodel - who has boasted over 30 years at the helm of the fashion industry - has revealed her size didn't hinder her from fronting other campaigns and enabled her to "different" opportunities.

She explained: "But because of the way my body was, I had some different opportunities, like my swimsuit calendars."

Meanwhile Cindy - who has 15-year-old daughter Kaia Gerber - has revealed her daughter gives her fashion and beauty tips.

She explained: "She [Kaia] keeps me up on things like this."

And Cindy believes she is looking "pretty good" for her age, and vows to not smoke and get enough sleep to continue to look and feel good.

She said: "I don't want to look in the mirror every day and be down on myself. Look, I'm holding together pretty good, but I don't look like I did when I was 25 or 30 or even 40.

"I'm good at my job. I know I'm a good model at this point in my career. Though some days I feel like I'm too busy or too stressed out, I'm still excited to go to work. That kind of translates from the internal to the external. The secret is that there's no secret. Do all the stuff we know: Don't smoke, get enough sleep, drink plenty of water, find what makes you happy."
