Christopher Kane's new collection was inspired by flowers.
The 31-year-old Scottish designer debuted his Spring/Summer 2014 collection during London Fashion Week this morning (16.09.13) and revealed the concept behind his latest line was to approach floral prints from the perspective of a biologist.
He said: "I was thinking of how to look at flowers in a different way. I love them, but I get bored of them always being 'beautiful'.
"Then it just came to me about how relevant and important they are for survival and thought it could be interesting to look at them from a biologist's point of view."
Fifty-four models strutted down the catwalk to the soundtrack of Pink Floyd's 'No Education' in floral prints and shimmery pastel garments, embellished with cut-outs and metallic finishes.
The A-list front row included American Vogue magazine's Editor-in- Chief Anna Wintour, British Prime Minister David Cameron's wife Samantha and model Alexa Chung.
Christopher is also excited to be opening up his first flagship store in the English capital on Mount Street, a move he has been planning since receiving investment from Kering earlier this year.
He explained to British Vogue magazine: "I'm really excited at being able to showcase my edit of the collections. It's always been a dream to open a store in London."
