Christina Ricci has desperately wanted to dye her hair blonde for "a really long time".
The 37-year-old actress has revealed she has "secretly" wanted to ditch her brunette tresses for a lighter hue long before she took the plunge to die her hair, and trialled out a variety of wigs whilst filming 'Z: The Beginning of Everything' to ensure the hair colour would suit her.
Speaking to Net-A-Porter's The Edit magazine about her beauty overhaul, she said: "I'd secretly wanted to go blonde for a really long time. I actually wear a lot of wigs in 'Z...', but I used it as an excuse."
And the Californian star is "shocked" by how taken she was with her new do.
She explained: "And I'm shocked by how much I love it. "It's like the way little girls love sparkles - it's just such a pretty colour."
Christina - who is known for playing the gothic role of Wednesday in 'The Addams Family' - has revealed she "loves" wearing garments that make her look like a "lady", and counts a "tiny little Chanel suit", which she accessorises with oversized jewellery and accessories, as her go-to ensemble.
She explained: "I love looking like a 'lady'. There's nothing I like more than a tiny little Chanel suit and big jewellery."
And the star - who has two-year-old son Freddie with her husband James Heerdegen - has admitted her outfit choices are always based around her petite five foot one inch frame.
She said: "I'm 5 foot 1 inches so I'm obsessed with proportion - I really have to have a waist, or it has to be super-short."
However, Christina avoids wearing short mini dresses or skirts because she has claimed she is "too old" for that style.
She said: "And I am too old now to wear anything super-short without feeling ridiculous."
