Anya Hindmarch's new menswear collection has "launched itself".
The 48-year-old fashion accessories designer - who is known for her quirky handbag creations, which feature vibrant colour palettes and motifs - has launched her first menswear capsule on Wednesday (06.07.16), which she believes became a success naturally after men began to purchase her luxury products for themselves.
Speaking to Vogue online about her latest venture, the blonde beauty - who received the British Fashion Award for Accessory Designer in 2014, and again at the Elle Awards this year - said: "Men started wearing our product so the menswear line really launched itself. They have been coming in and buying pieces that were part of our women's collection for some time, as well as ordering pieces from our bespoke shop and putting on their bags and phones, so we thought we might as well do it in a more organised way."
Anya's menswear range, which includes 10 bags, iPad and iPhone cases, wallet holders and shoes, was designed with the theme of men's work wear in mind.
However, the creative mastermind - who expanded her designer brand in 2009, which saw her open 51 stores worldwide - has revealed she plans to launch the latest addition to the line in her four most popular flagship stores in Lonodn, New York, Los Angeles and Japan, before taking the collection to "key partners" in Asia.
Speaking about her stockists, the mogul said: "[The collection will then launch with] key partners in Asia where we have some fun pop ups planned."
Meanwhile, English entrepreneur has revealed her inspiration to launch her own business stemmed from her parents.
Speaking previously, she said: "I come from an incredibly strong family - a lucky family. And I watched my father being hard-working, growing a business, and all the trials and tribulations of that. His business was to do with plastics - I think he invented the first plastic flower pot - and my mother helped him very much."
