At the same time, if something's really upsetting you, and you've thought it through, then do it. There's room for theories on this, but I don't think there's one gracious way of doing things. Anyway, to hell with grace.
Yasmin Le Bon does not feel confident about her body.
The 44-year-old supermodel - who is often called on to walk the runway, and is about to launch her own clothing range with high street retailer Wallis - has struggled to come to terms with the way her appearance has changed in recent years.
She explained: "As you get older, you get less confident about your body. It's a strange moment when it starts to happen. I never thought it would at all, but it has. I'm still in shock about it actually.
"I'm covering up more than I used to. Luckily, I've always loved a high neck or a long skirt. I just think they're chicer and sexier than you would imagine."
Yasmin is determined not to get too caught up in the ageing process, insisting time spent obsessing about her looks could be put to better use elsewhere.
She is also unsure whether she will ever succumb to the surgeon's knife, but refuses to criticise women who do undergo procedures.
She told Britain's Sunday Times newspaper: "I could spend my time looking in the mirror picking out all the things I want to change. But it's so expensive, so time-consuming, and are the results going to be good? I don't know.
