Valentino will showcase his last collection at the Haute Couture show in Paris on the 23rd of January, after 45 years at being at the top of the fashion industry.
When he announced his resignation last year Valentino said he wanted to 'stop at the height of my glory.' Thankfully he isn't planning to step out of the limelight completely and plans to design costumes for the opera and ballet.
On his departure, Gucci designer Alessandra Facchinetti will take over to design womenswear whilst ex Prada designer Feruccio Pozzoni will design the menswear collections.
Although the fashion world will mourn the loss of Valention, the final show promises to be spectacular. The house spokesperson told Vogue: 'It will be a grand collection, a grand show, somewhat unique with a lot of gowns.'
