Thumbs up or down for Kate Middleton's 'recycling'?
Fashion is a funny thing. We're slammed for wearing things only once and slammed for being eco and recycling. So which is the right way to go?
We all have our favourite items of clothing to wear - those we know we should probably wear a little less, so its a rough deal if your in the spot line and constantly having to think about what to wear and whether you have worn in more than once.
There are two extremes I'll grant you. Firstly: Lady Gaga - who has been spotted in the same outfit (bra, pants and peopard print jacket) three times in the past two weeks. For someone of her imagination and dress sense we expect a little more. Surely even she can find something to team up in her endless wardrobe? Three times in two weeks is too much, yes?
On the other hand there is a big deal being made about Kate Middleton wearing the same black and white silk cocktail dress she wore for a wedding as she did for a night out with her sister in 2007. She has also 'recycled' a light blue jacquard coat she wore to a friend's wedding in 2009. Believe it or not, these are acceptable periods of time for someone to wait before popping on an outfit again.
Being a fashion icon comes at a high price - clearly you cannot do right for doing wrong. Anyhoo Kate, you look great!
